Reflection #2

  • What attitudes, skills, and concepts have you gained from participating in the course so far?
  • What have you learned in the course that you will not forget tomorrow?
  • How will you apply what you have learned to your teaching and future learning?

I have gained a lot of educational technology skills from participating in this course.  Even more so after my first reflection.  Aside from, Diigo, LinkedIn, Twitter, WordPress, Engrade, bitly, I have also become very familiar with Voicepress.  I learned more about this as I did my last author compare/contrast paper.  I think it’s a great tool for educators to use as well as students in their classes.  I spoke about not being able to use technology in my classroom in my last reflection.  This is something I am working on now for my final project so I look forward to learning more as I implement this into my math courses.  Again, I have come a long way since the beginning of this course.  I am far more familiar with the types of technology out there and the vast ways I can use this technology.  Now it’s a matter of using this technology and discovering more and sharing this with colleagues and my students.  I know I will not forget how to use voicepress because I’ve never used anything like this before and I learned how to “Pecha Kucha” my presentations, which was also something I will not forget!  I would like to try to implement “Pecha Kucha” in an instructional way in my classes.  This will be a special challenge in my math courses, but I would like to show more visuals (in a limited time) for simplified comprehension.  This was very neat!

  1. Azra,

I’m wondering if you meant VoiceThread … Voicepress is a voice recognition blogging tool for WordPress. I’m excited to hear about your students’ experiences with Pecha Kucha.
